Mama roux records

Whitley Bay, once home to bank holiday Monday madness, and ourselves for a number of years. We left, and so did the madness.

To be fair though the town centre and the main drag are in the middle of an upsurge. with the fabulous Jam Jar Cinema for me being at the heart of a trend towards providing the community with quality options, with other food and bottle rooms no more than walking distance away.

Would have heartily recommended Pablo Eggsgobao, but sadly for some bizarre reason the Bay version doesn’t have the fabulous vegan bao bun on its menu (go to the Newcastle branch for that one).

Anyway, a few years ago a new high street record shop, Mama Roux Records, opened. Stuck between Holland & Barretts and a pharmacy its as always a brave attempt to open a niche shop in an area that has long been on the decline and often over shadowed
